Not all numbers match however the receiver, rear sight & front barrel band do match with the bolt being different by only 65. K98K fans say these particular rifles were actually made in 1948. The rifle is fitted with the standard laminated stock & barrel hand guard with the ‘Heer Waffenamt’ proof on the right side of the stock which is fitted with the correct style cupped buttplate. As shown, made for SS at special concentration camp factory 1943-1944, with both bnz and Rune.' The photo shows a refinished rifle with site hood and no mention that they are Yugo. There are double WaA “eagle 77” proofs on the right side just below the rear sight. It has the correct solid pattern milled front barrel band marked “eagle 37” with the milled lower band which appears to have been left unblued, (in the white) & are numbered to the rifle. The top rear section of the barrel is stamped with ’80’ which we understand is the steel manufacturers code. It displays the standard Steyr “Eagle 63” & “Eagle 77” Waffenamt proofs & single firing proof on the barrel & receiver, with the standard block “Mod. It is covered in Waffenamts & eagle firing proofs in all the right places.
